MACHINE DESIGN

Many times there are product handling or mechanical production processing needs that are one-of-a-kind in nature and require special equipment. These applications are met generally with unavailable machinery from vendors who mass-produce a product line of packaging or handling machinery. When such a need occurs, PAK/TEEM has the resources in its Machine Design group to tackle the specific requirements of these needs with an appropriately engineered design and fabricated machine or unit operation. In cases such as these, the customer will describe the part manipulation or operation that must be performed along with any specific constraints such as rate, size, power consumption, preferred vendors, etc.

PAK/TEEM's Machine Design group coupled with the many talents of the shop personnel will brainstorm an operating concept. Depending on the complexity and available funding, this concept may be 'modeled' in a development or prototype machine to demonstrate the feasibility and practicality of a particular detail or the entire concept itself. After concurrence of the concept and the established design requirements/capabilities have been established with the customer, PAK/TEEM will provide a cost and schedule to perform the detailed-to-final design and fabrication. Upon approval of this proposal PAK/TEEM will commence to Design, Engineer and Manufacture a machine to perform the required operation(s).

Many of the mechanical designs of today require the integration of controls to make sure that these unit operations work in tandem with other existing equipment. PAK/TEEM's machine design group works very closely with the electrical controls group of PAK/TEEM to produce an efficient and workable solution for the customer's one-of-a-kind need.
